A Skyline Holiday Tradition Above the City
Each year, ripe with Skyline IT Services company culture, our holiday party gives us a chance to pause, celebrate, and reconnect. For nearly a decade, we’ve returned to a place that consistently delivers an unforgettable experience: Mister A’s, located atop the Manchester building in Bankers Hill. With sweeping views of downtown San Diego and Balboa Park, it has become a tradition our team looks forward to every year.
Starting the Night on the Terrace
We opened the evening on our private terrace balcony with a relaxed social hour. Guests enjoyed an open bar, passed appetizers, and uninterrupted views of the city skyline as the sun dipped below the horizon. The setting immediately set the tone for the night—festive, comfortable, and unhurried.
To get everyone laughing and engaged, we kicked off a couple of games early. Who Am I? sparked quick thinking and playful debate, while Guess the Number of Candy Canes in the Jar brought out everyone’s competitive streak. The terrace buzzed with conversation, laughter, and the kind of energy that only comes from a team genuinely enjoying each other’s company.
A Private Dining Experience in the Blue Room
After the terrace social, we moved into our private dining space—The Blue Room, previously known as the Balboa Room. The transition marked the start of a beautifully paced five-course meal, each course thoughtfully prepared and perfectly timed.
Between courses, the evening stayed lively. We played White Elephant, which delivered plenty of surprises and laughs, followed by holiday-themed Bingo. Prizes circulated around the room, and the friendly competition kept everyone engaged from start to finish.
Team, Tradition, and Togetherness
This year’s celebration included mostly our San Diego team, with a couple of colleagues flying in from out of state to join us. Their presence added an extra layer of connection and made the evening feel even more special.
Throughout the night, conversations flowed easily—from work stories and inside jokes to reflections on the year behind us. The views from the room and balcony never stopped impressing, but the people around the table made the night memorable.
An Ending No One Wanted to Rush
By around 10:30 p.m., the evening began to wind down—at least officially. In reality, no one rushed to leave. Groups lingered, conversations continued, and the energy in the room made it clear that everyone wanted the night to last just a little longer.
That moment said everything. It reflected the strength of our team, the value of shared experiences, and the importance of taking time to celebrate together.
Looking Ahead
As we closed out another year, we did so with gratitude—for our team, for a decade-long tradition at a truly special venue, and for an evening that reminded us why these moments matter.
Here’s to another great year ahead and to continuing a holiday tradition that brings us together, year after year.
